About Braker White | A West Texas Law Firm

Braker White is a West Texas law firm built on one principle: injured people in this region need trial lawyers who are from here, who practice here, and who try cases here.

Born and raised in Texas, attorneys Robert White and Greta Braker have dedicated more than 60 years of combined legal experience to representing personal injury victims across Odessa, Midland, Big Spring, Andrews, Pecos, Ward County, and the wider Permian Basin.

This is not a firm that operates from a distant headquarters and sends representatives to West Texas when a case demands it.

Our office sits in downtown Odessa at 230 W 3rd St, and our attorneys live and work in the same community as the clients they represent. That local presence shapes how we prepare cases, how we negotiate with insurance companies, and how we show up in the courtroom.

We handle cases involving car accidents, truck and 18-wheeler collisions, oilfield and workplace injuries, medical malpractice, product liability, wrongful death, and other serious harm caused by negligence.

Our attorneys prepare every case for trial from day one, and that approach has produced results, including a $4.5 million recovery in a big truck accident case involving brain and back injuries and multiple recoveries exceeding $1 million for clients with severe neck, back, and spinal injuries.

Past results do not guarantee future outcomes, as every case is different.

When you hire Braker White, you hire your neighbors. Call 432-274-2151 for a free case review.

Our Team

Professional Associations and Distinctions

The credentials behind Braker White reflect decades of commitment to personal injury trial work in West Texas, not just membership plaques.

Robert White

Robert White grew up in Odessa and attended Permian High School before earning his accounting degree from the University of Texas and his J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 1983. He returned home that same year to practice law and has never left.

  • Board certified in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a distinction held by fewer than 10% of Texas attorneys
  • Director of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association since 1992
  • Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA)
  • Past president of the Ector County Bar Association
  • Member of the State Bar of Texas and the American Bar Association
  • Licensed in the Texas Western District Court

Robert devotes more than 90% of his practice to representing individuals affected by personal injuries. He has spent his entire career on the plaintiff’s side, fighting for the people of West Texas against insurance companies and corporate defendants.

Greta Braker

Greta Braker earned her B.B.A. in Accounting magna cum laude from Texas State University and her J.D. magna cum laude from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2005.

She began her legal career as a staff attorney with the West Texas Innocence Project before joining Robert White’s firm in 2014. In 2023, she became a named partner, and together they formed Braker White.

  • Board certified in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization
  • Licensed in both Texas and New Mexico
  • Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates
  • Member of the Ector County Bar Association
  • Member of the Permian Basin Trial Lawyers Association and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association

Like Robert, Greta devotes more than 90% of her practice to personal injury cases. Her dual-state licensure gives the firm reach across state lines for Permian Basin workers and families who need it.

Board Certified Trial Lawyers

Board certification in personal injury trial law is the highest credential the Texas Board of Legal Specialization awards in this practice area.

Both Robert White and Greta Braker hold this certification, which requires demonstrated trial experience, peer review, and ongoing continuing education.

Fewer than 10% of all licensed attorneys in Texas have earned board certification in any field.

What Makes Braker White Different from Other West Texas Law Firms?

Large, out-of-town firms market heavily across the Permian Basin, but many of them have never set foot in an Ector County courtroom. Braker White is different because this firm was built here, and it has stayed here for more than four decades.

  • Trial-first preparation: We prepare every case as if it is going to trial. Insurance companies track which attorneys actually try cases and which ones settle every claim on their desk. That distinction matters when your case reaches the negotiation table.
  • Local courtroom knowledge: Robert White and Greta Braker know the judges, the procedures, and the pace of litigation in West Texas courts. That familiarity removes guesswork and helps your case move forward without unnecessary delays.
  • Direct attorney access: When you call Braker White, you talk to Robert or Greta. Your case is not handed off to a case manager at a call center in another state.
  • Contingency fee structure: You pay nothing upfront and owe nothing unless your case results in a recovery. Our financial interests are aligned with yours from the start.
  • Proven recoveries: The firm has recovered millions for injured clients across the Permian Basin, including results in truck accidents, car accidents, oilfield injuries, and wrongful death cases. Past results do not guarantee future outcomes.

Where Does Braker White Represent Clients?

Braker White represents personal injury clients from communities across West Texas and the Permian Basin, including Odessa, Midland, Big Spring, Andrews, Pecos, and Ward County. Our office is located in downtown Odessa, and we handle cases filed in Ector County, Midland County, and surrounding jurisdictions.

If you were injured anywhere in West Texas and need a personal injury lawyer who knows this region, we are here to help.

Giving Back to the Odessa Community

Braker White is rooted in Odessa and Midland, and our commitment to this region goes beyond the courtroom. The lead attorneys and their staff give their time, money, and support to local organizations, including:

  • Junior League of Odessa
  • Local Catholic charities
  • Ector County Democrats
  • The Odessa Crisis Center, a resource for those affected by sexual and domestic assault

Representing your neighbors means investing in the same community you serve.
